Job Summary:
The Mechanic Technician will be responsible for performing preventative, predictive, routing and emergency maintenance on process plant equipment, including mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, communication, and control systems in a timely manner to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must live within a one-hour drive time of the plant location
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • High school diploma or equivalent required plus two years of vocational/technical training in the various phases of welding, pipefitting, electrical, electronic, or instrumentation and controls or other related industrial mechanical maintenance training is required. An associate degree in electrical, electronic or instrumentation and controls, or industrial maintenance can be substituted for the two years of experience.
Major Responsibilities:
  • Strength in technical problem solving based on expertise and experience, and a strong commitment to efficiently achieve high quality results is required. A thoughtful, persevering, self-disciplined approach to achieving accurate, detailed work is essential.
Key Skills and Competencies:
  • Experience in power and process systems maintenance – ethanol preferred
  • Experience performing maintenance in industrial or manufacturing setting
  • Experience repairing or maintaining pumps, fans, gearboxes, and conveyors
  • Experience trouble shooting equipment and reading drawings
  • Experience with electrical & instrumentation installation, troubleshooting, & repair
  • Experience with Hart communicator
  • Working knowledge of DCS/PLC
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience performing mechanical duties which include welding, rigging, and the use of hand and power tools
  • Experience working with vibration analysers
  • Experience with Arc Flash
  • Ability to read and update electrical Piping & Instrumentation Drawings (P&IDs)
Other:
  • Normal work hours for this position are a rotating 10-hour shift, Monday through Friday with a rotating evening and weekend on-call schedule. Extended work hours are required during a plant shutdown.
